The Official Arsenal Newsletter – 4 January‏

On the pitch…

Arsenal ended 2011 with a win as Queens Park Rangers were beaten 1-0 at Emirates Stadium while Robin van Persie set a new Club record for top-flight goals in a calendar year. But Arsene Wenger’s side did not make a good start to 2012, losing 2-1 at Fulham despite taking a first-half lead through Laurent Koscielny at Craven Cottage. The Club’s loanees were in action too as Emmanuel Frimpong made his Wolves debut while Kyle Bartley and Luke Freeman also made their mark. Remember to catch up with the latest highlights and reaction on Arsenal Player.

Off the pitch…

Emmanuel Frimpong joined Wolves on loan for the rest of the season while Ladies goalkeeper Rebecca Spencer agreed a six-month contract with French side Soyaux. Robin van Persie topped the Club’s Goals of the Year poll, Tony Adams paid a visit to his recently-unveiled statue at Emirates Stadium and the Club announced the return of ‘Be A Gunner. Be A Runner. Arsenal fans voted for their EA SPORTS Player of the Month for December and supporters submitted their questions for the first Fans’ Forum of the New Year.
